Cabernet Franc is believed to be one of the oldest of the Bordeaux varieties.  It is distinctive for its fruit forward style. At Spring Hill Vineyard, we have toned down the vegetal notes through vigorous leaf pulling and controlled cropping. This variety is early ripening which lends itself to the Connecticut growing season.

Our wine is a bold, earthy, dry red which has been aged 13 months in Hungarian oak. You will find aromas of currants and dried herbs along with dark fruit flavors and hints of black pepper. Our 2015 Cabernet Franc was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2017 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.
